Custodial Technician

As Custodial Technician you will provide assistance to ensure safe and sanitary operations of all departments and functions of the office building, and processes. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain strict department security, confidentiality and quality to meet professional standards.
  • Observe and react to custodial needs as required.
  • Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping of flooring and stairs.
  • Dusting and cleaning office desks, furniture, walls, ledges, and fixtures.
  • Cleaning windows and windowsills.
  • Clean and sanitize all areas of bathrooms, locker rooms, fitness center, and other areas as required.
  • Clean sinks, countertops, microwaves, refrigerators, and vending equipment in cafe & kitchenettes.
  • Restock supplies in bathrooms, and common areas.
  • Empty all trash cans and replace liners, clean receptacles as necessary.
  • Maintain custodial equipment in a clean, safe and operable condition.
  • Proper labeling, dilution and use of all chemicals.
  • Wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment at all times.
  • Internal customer relations & problem solving.

Compensation
$10.00-$11.00/hour
Hours Per Week
Part-time hourly position (no evenings or weekends) - 20hrs per week on average

Physical Requirements/Work Environment
  • Work is generally performed in an office setting with a moderate to low noise level.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • The employee frequently is required to walk.
  • The employee must be able to handle working occasionally in outdoor weather/temperatures.
  • The employee is required to stand; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move heavy things.

  • Speed of execution, service-oriented professional who acts with a sense of urgency.
  • Skill in problem solving, human relations and time management.
  • Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment.
  • Must be highly organized and able to handle a multi-task environment.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write general correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one or small group situations.
  • Must have an average understanding of computer skills and email.
  • Must be willing and able to obtain additional education and training.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • A valid driver's license, reliable transportation and insurance as well as maintain a driver's license as a condition of employment.
  • Must adhere to strict confidentiality in all matters. (Must sign a confidentiality agreement prior to employment)
Education

High School Diploma or GED and 1-3 years' work experience in Facilities or Custodial Services is required.
